I have a huge fear of the dentist but Dr. Jami was amazing. I was so fearful of having my cavity filled but Dr. Jami completely it with zero pain or discomfort. HIGHLY recommend.

I have been seeing Dr. Makkar for about 3-4 years now since I first moved to Seattle. I have SO much dental anxiety - I have had a dentist start a filling before I was numb, I have had a dentist recommend unnecessary procedures, and I started seeing an orthodontist when I was 7 years old, so my teeth genetics are pretty awful. I floss, I brush, and I still have issues. BUT I trust Dr. Makkar. She always takes a little extra time with me to ensure I'm comfortable, to check in with me during procedures (I've gotten a crown and two partial overlays) and I know she always has my best interests at heart. I was devastated to have to do invisalign after having braces (and I wore my retainers!!!! but my teeth moved anyways) but now that I've finished my invisalign treatment, I have noticed a huge difference in my bite. I was unnecessarily putting excess pressure on one side of my mouth, and gone untreated, it would have caused major problems later. The front office admin team is also super helpful; I had a billing issue that they helped me resolve with minimal complications. I know I will need more dental work as my childhood silver fillings rear their heads, and I plan to go to Ballard Modern as long as Dr. Makkar is there. Huge shout-out to dental hygienist Bella as well, who has chatted with me during many visits, and stayed by my side during the local anesthesia for procedures, bringing me a stress ball and giving me tips during invisalign. Dental procedures are expensive, it sucks, dental insurance should cover way more as part of our health. But in the meantime while we wait on systemic change, I trust Dr. Makkar and her team with my care and I appreciate that she is gentle with my sensitive teeth.

Dr. Jami is a wonderful dentist. She provides excellent customer service and takes great care when cleaning my teeth because of my sensitivity to cold water.
